This graduate certificate program is for students interested in science and methods for ensuring secrecy, integrity, availability, and legitimate use of information systems. The certificate may be pursued concurrently with any of the graduate programs in the Volgenau School.

Program Requirements

Graduate certificates may be pursued independently or in conjunction with a graduate degree program. Please see the University Catalog for complete information on program requirements and policies. Additional specifications may apply.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and have earned a GPA of 3.00 or higher in the last 60 credits. In addition, applicants must complete a self-assessment form, which can be obtained from the Computer Science Department. This form provides summary information concerning background and preparation for the program.

Applicants must possess knowledge equivalent to that provided by the following courses: INFS 501 - Discrete and Logical Structures for Information SystemsSWE 510 - Object-Oriented Programming in JavaINFS 515 - Computer Organization Course and Operating Systems, and INFS 519 - Program Design and Data Structures. Applicants must also possess the equivalent knowledge of CS 555 and CS 571, or the prerequisite courses required for the selected electives. 

Certificate Requirements (12 credits)

This graduate certificate program is for students interested in science and methods for ensuring secrecy, integrity, availability, and legitimate use of information systems. The certificate may be pursued concurrently with any of the graduate programs in the Volgenau School. 

The graduate certificate may be pursued only on a part-time basis.

Graduate certificates may be pursued on a full-time or part-time basis.
